The staff kitchen at Gelos Enterprises is always a mess. No-one ever cleans up after themselves. The microwaves have food splatters from people heating up their lunch without a cover, which quickly leads to bacterial growth. People continually leave food in the fridge which deteriorates and becomes mouldy, thus a health hazard.

The WHS Committee developed the roster and communicated it to all managers and staff. A member of the WHS Committee undertook to check that cleaning tasks were being done.
The WHS Committee also took on the task of cultural change by:
· updating staff about the change in contract cleaner duties
· creating posters and emails on the WHS issue of food hygiene to encourage people to clean up after themselves.
