         <description><![CDATA[<div>Argentina was originally a part of the spanish colonies, called Viceroyalty of the Rio de la Plata. The independence movement began in 1806, when British attacks on Buenos Aires were repelled by local military with little help from Spain. On July 9, 1816, they declared the country independent.</div>]]></description>

This backfired when the great depression arrived, and a coup overthrew him for two years. In 1932, civilians regained control of the government, but the economy continued to fail.</div>]]></description>

A new constitution strengthens the president's power and Juan Peron is reelected. However, in his second term, his wife dies and his support diminishes. In 1955, Violent military protests cause him to have to resign and he is exiled.</div>]]></description>

After his term, The Peronist party elects Peron in march, but he dies only a year into his term and his wife takes over. However, she is strongly disliked and armed forces seize power, and launch the 'Dirty War' where thousands die.</div>]]></description>

After the Peron era, Britain declared the Falklands War, which lasted eight years, which subsequently lead to Argentina changing to use the peso. After this, a recession struck Argentina, destroying it's economy. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the end, there is no way to say whether or not Argentina's revolution was successful or not in implementing the Enlightenment ideals. According to John Locke, the repeated over throwing of the president would say that the people did follow the enlightenment ideals. However, according to Thomas Hobbes, the government should have been a Monarchy. (Argentina is a democracy) Overall, however, Argentina did follow most of the Enlightenment Ideals.</div>]]></description>
