My name is Flora. I am your Lecturer-in-Charge for this unit. 

I began my university teaching career in Australia in 2005. I have been teaching both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students.  I also had the opportunity to supervise Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students at Charles Darwin University (CDU). 

I hope I will learn about who you are from this platform, be able to guide you through the unit, and be available to support you as much as I could so that you will  achieve your learning outcomes at the end of this semester. 

I enjoy reading, listening to music, gardening and travelling at my leisure. I walk about an hour per day and play Tai Chi 2-3 times a week to keep fit. I hope you will strive for a good balance between your work, home chores and study because your well-being is important.

I live in a small country town on the Darling Downs in Queensland and work in a nearby rural hospital, mostly in the Maternity unit as a Clinical Midwife. 
This course has expanded my horizons and outlook on nursing education and is opening opportunities for me to further my career in Clinical Education. I am looking forward to learning more about curriculum design and how I can apply this in my workplace to enhance and promote the concepts of lifelong learning and inter-professional education amongst my colleagues.  I look forward to sharing the learning experience with you all!

I am a clinical nurse in Emergency but this year I have been working in nurse education and love it which is what has lead me to this course. This is my first module and looks daunting but challenging at the same time. I am looking forward to learning from this course so that I can progress my career into nurse education full time.
As a clinical nurse I do a lot of clinical teaching and think this course will help me enormously.
For relaxation and exercise I walk my dog (a very spoiled labrador) and yoga. We live on 40 acres and have an orchard and several organic vegetable and flower gardens that keep me busy as well as designing and trying to establish a rain forest.
I am looking forward to meeting everyone and learning together and from each other

I am just over half way through the Grad Dip in Clinical Education, and aim to continue to Masters level.
Through my upcoming new role I will be required to develop and implement new training programs and I'm excited for this well timed unit. My aim is to apply the theory we will learn in this unit to the programs I must develop, in particular how to integrate the tasks I need to teach into a cohesive curriculum that meets the required outcomes.

I am a wife and mother to two beautiful young men. My eldest is in his 2nd year of a Bachelor of Computer Science and my youngest is completing year 12 this year aiming for a Bachelor of Music next year. I am currently studying the Master of Clinical Education, this is my second semester. So far I have really enjoyed the course content and am looking froward to new challenges. I started my nursing career as an EN and then continued to RN. Currently I work on a busy Acute Assessment Unit in Melbourne's Outer South East. As I am interested in education and spend a lot of time working as a preceptor to student nurses and new graduates. I completed my Cert IV in Training and Assessment early last year, so now I am also one of the hospital assessors. In two weeks time I take up a sessional clinical support nurse role for 11 weeks, which I am very excited and nervous about! However, I am hoping that the position will lead to a more permanent education position in the future. I am hoping that through this unit of study I will feel more confident in the development of curriculum that will meet the needs and interests of varying students, such as ESL and the millennials. I am very interested in the way education is changing through development and delivery. Engaging our future students is vital and challenging.

I'm hoping that this subject will really transform my clinical education role, as my current teaching is a bit reactive and sometimes not very well planned for many reasons, some beyond my control. I see this subject as important for helping me to develop relevant, timely, learner centred clinical education curriculum in my current position and any future nurse education roles I might undertake. 
Outside work, I enjoy spending time in the outdoors with my wife and three children and learning the art of photography.

Along the way I have also completed a Naturopathy Degree,  whilst helping to facilitate learning of junior and new nurses, in various roles as such as a preceptor, presenting in-services and clinical facilitation for Post graduate nurses.
I have recently joined a Medical Device company and education is a large part of my role.
 Three of things I would like to get out of this unit are:
 *How to begin to design a module and curriculum by understanding the theory and processes, etc that influence it.
 *How to keep the students/subjects engaged through module design and content.
*Being able to evaluate my own curriculum so as to ensure a high standard of design that promotes learning.
