As a future leader in a business organization, my first leadership goal is engaging my employees in order to increase their work performances and contributions. One of the most important elements of an organization’s success is employee productivity. I have to improve my employees’ motivations that enhance productivity in a business setting to ensure organization’s long-term development.

To achieve this goal, one of my action steps is to recognize efforts and praise employees. As a smart manager, it is very important to understand how appreciating performance strengths affect the engagement of employees in the workplace. Through recognition of employees’ good work performances that give employees satisfying work experiences in the work place. This approach of praising which keep employees engaged. At the same time, I will evaluate my employees’ work performance carefully and give them their work performance reviews with feedbacks. According to survey, most of employees crave feedback, because giving employees with high-quality feedbacks are important to support them to improve their work performances (Kettner, 2017). I believe that providing employees with negative feedback could be able support them to learn about their shortness and improve themselves in the future. On the other hand, giving positive feedback to employees is to recognize their efforts and make them feel valued in the workplace. This is done to enhance and increase their work performances. From my perspective, both negative and positive feedback are equally important to engage employees and improve their work performances. Therefore, the strategy of motivation will ensure that employee’s strengths are complemented with appropriate feedback that the staff can respond to so as to keep them engaged.

My second action step is building a strong culture of trust in the organization which can support employees work more efficiently. Having a great organization culture gives employees something to be excited about (Pentecost, 2016). I want to create a business culture which makes employees look forward to work every workday. Firstly, I will define my organization culture values. If I am the leader of Catffee (Cats Coffee Company), our business value will be protecting stray animals. I would like to hire people who has a personality with protect animals. In my eyes, if my employees have the same value as organization culture, that can keep them motived and moving forward. An organization will strong culture, it is easier to engage employees succeed.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My second goal is to demonstrate respect to my employees and build a respectful environment in the workplace. As a future leader in an organization, I want to create a work environment in which every employee is respected. I believe that employee is one of the most important assets for an organization. Building respect which can make employees feel they are important for an organization.

As an organizational leader, my first action step to respect my employees in the workplace is to practice effective communication with employees. Managers have long employed the traditional methods of communication to direct relay requires and tasks to their junior staffs. However, some employees are naturally against being commanded to perform a specific task and make these employees feel disrespected. Leadership is a relationship based on respect ((Daft, 2018, P16) ). Therefore, as a leader, I have to practice effective communication, such as using friendly body language, a tone of voice, choice of words (Susan, 2019). These methods will give my employees a sense of respect and responsibility for their tasks which leading to a respectful work environment in the work place. In addition, I would like to encourage employees to express dissatisfactions and ideas and use effective communication to solve existing problems in the workplace. I believe that leadership management based on effective communication leaders to the natural expression of feelings by employees. Adopting this practice in the work place which results a good relationship that is built on respect.

My second action step is to fair and equal treatment of every employee. As a good organizational leader, multicultural management is very important to enhance an equal work environment for employees with different gender, character, color, race among and so on (Susan, 2019). As an action step, I have to get to know every employee’s background and acknowledge the difference that exists between employees and give each on an equal opportunity to grow. Implement same workplace rules, so all employees feel that they are treated fairly and equally. It is my way to demonstrate respect to my employees in the workplace. Building a respectful workplace environment is one of the most important leadership goals in my eyes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reference

Kettner, G.
