Son conceptos los cuales, cuanto más manipulativos los hagamos, mejor.

Para trabajar las operaciones de manera manipulativa podemos utilizar cuentas de collares, legumbres, pinzas de tender la ropa, plastilina... De esta manera, se trabaja el concepto de "sumar" (añadir, juntar, poner, comprar...) y "restar" (quitar, perder, vender, regalar...).

Se empieza con ejemplos concretos, representando cada número con objetos y uniéndolos para contar el total.


Una vez veamos que se entiende el concepto, podemos pasar a realizar sumas y restas con la recta numérica, algo que hemos trabajado en clase. Dibujamos una recta del 0 al 10 o hasta el 20 según consideremos, e indicamos que, si sumamos, vamos hacia la derecha o hacia delante. Si restamos, vamos hacia atrás porque quitamos números.

La decena es un concepto abstracto para los niños y las niñas. La manera de que consigan comprender este aspecto es contar con uno o varios materiales con los que a partir de estos objetos los niños se familiaricen con las agrupaciones de 10 en 10 elementos. Así, realizarán la asociación también de ver un número escrito con su cantidad real. Podemos explicarles también que es la manera de simplificar el conteo cuando tengo muchos elementos para contar.

MATERIALES

- Podemos emplear cualquier tipo de material manipulativo pequeño en casa: fichas de juegos, manzanas, pinzas de tender la ropa, legumbres, pinturas...

-Dos papeles, uno rojo y otro azul (post its, folios plastificados para escribir con rotulador vileda y reutilizarlos, dos folios blanco y pintura azul y roja... lo importante es tener dos superficies de escritura diferenciadas, una para decena y otra para unidad).


SECUENCIA PROPUESTA

Para trabajar los números del 1 al 20, en los que nos vamos a focalizar lo que queda de trimestre, una buena secuencia sería esta:

  1. Disponer los elementos que se van a utilizar (legumbres, pinzas de tender la ropa, pinturas, muñequitos...).

  2. Proporcionar de manera oral (hablado, sin escribir todavía) un número. Por ejemplo: "Once" (comenzaríamos inicialmente con números más sencillos).

  3. De primeras, llamaremos a cada cosa suelta "unidad" (es UNO), e informaremos de que la "decena" (DIEZ) son grupos que podemos ir haciendo cuando hacemos 10 unidades.

  4. Dejamos que cuenten de una en una las unidades de objetos que necesitan y, en el momento que se consiguen 10, agrupar estos objetos de una manera visual (apartándolos a otro lado de la mesa, poniéndolos en una cajita o bandeja, atándolos con gomas...). Seguiríamos contando para ver las unidades que quedan tras la decena.

  5. Después, de manera oral, veríamos cuantas decenas o grupitos de 10 hemos hecho, y lo anotaríamos en el papel rojo o papel donde se escriben las decenas. Suelen confundirse y decir 10 decenas. Por eso es importante preguntar y recalcar "¿CUÁNTOS GRUPITOS HAY?" e incluso cogerlos en la mano para que vean que es 1 decena.

  6. El siguiente paso es comprobar cuántas unidades han quedado sueltas y escribirlo en el papel azul o el espacio destinado a las unidades.

  7. Colocaríamos cada papel debajo de la decena o la unidad, según corresponda. De esta manera, verían de manera visual el número que se ha formado y por qué es así (en este caso, 1 decena y 1 unidad suelta, verían que es 1 y 1.

  8. Si queremos como actividad final, pueden escribir con letra el nombre de ese número.

  • Blanca: una palmada y extendemos los brazos (dos tiempos)

  • Negra: una palmada (un tiempo)
