The destructive power of jealousy is emphasised through its manifestations between Othello and Iago.

For Othello, his jealousy is rooted in his status as an outsider due to his race and background as a Moor, which makes him question his worthiness in Desdemona's eyes, amplifying his fear to lose her. Iago exploits Othello's insecurities by insinuating that Desdemona is unfaithful. Due to his own sensitivity, planting seeds of doubt that grow into overwhelming jealousy.

Whereas for Iago, his jealousy stems from his own feelings of inadequacy and resentment. He is envious of Cassio for being promoted to lieutenant over him and harbors a deep-seated grudge against Othello. Iago's jealousy motivates him to orchestrate Othello's downfall through cunning manipulation. He crafts elaborate schemes to make Othello doubt Desdemona's loyalty, showcasing how jealousy can lead to deceit and betrayal. Iago embodies the theme of jealousy as a catalyst for evil, using it as a tool to unleash chaos in the lives of those around him.

I wouldn’t add the names of the secondary characters in the inquiry question. You can keep those for details later on. Content is excellent and analytical. Flow is quite good. Offer some kind of link between paragraphs so they flow into each other logically. Some word choices here and there, and repetition of words. Try to vary them as much as possible, although you did use a lot of nuanced vocabulary.

References: Well chosen. They will be used to compliment and showcase a wide range of points and to show an extensive understanding of both the texts and the global issue. References of the wider body or work will be impressive and will help make the interpretations persuasive.

Analysis: A lot of insightful analysis, in depth, not glimmers. Delved into methods and discuss them in relation to the global issues. The methods they look at are usually complex and sophisticated. Same level of analysis when discussing authorial choices in the wider work/body as they do with their extracts.

Evaluation: Nuanced approach (analyzing in different ways, multi-faceted) approaching authorial choices and evaluating them. They might look at features in terms of meanings or variations, or they might provide an extremely detailed evaluation that is convincing and insightful. Evaluations might be linked or connected to other ideas or features (feature is connected with another feature).

C)

Focus: Sustained throughout. Rarely lose sight of the global issue in this band. Focus on their extract and the BOD will be impressive.

Balance: Clearly thought about how long to spend on each extract/ BOD. Sensible, effective and shows a lot of care has been put into thinking about what to say in those 10 minutes to try to ensure even coverage (remove less insightful comments). No favor over one extract over another, will give a detailed and comprehensive overview of all aspects.

Structure: Clever use of structure, showing a carefully crafted 10 minutes. Cohesion and structure go hand in hand. Inventive and creative, find a way to go beyond just the usual introduction, conclusion.

Cohesive: Links between ideas. Inventive and original links between their ideas, their global issue or their extracts and BOD. Will not deal with their ideas in isolation but will keep linking and referring back to the global issue or interpretations.
