.He was born on April 28, 1545, in Geoncheon-dong, Hansung His father, Yi Jeong, who became a military official, became a military official in 1573 (the 6th year of King Seonjo's reign) and served as a fifth-class military officer in 1576 . His mother, Cho Kye-byun, was the daughter of a natural change.In 1572 (the 5th year of King Seonjo's reign), when he was 28 years old, he took a test at the training center, but while taking the test, he fainted from his horse and woke up, so he went home with a splint on his broken leg.
Four years later, in 1576 (the 9th year of King Seonjo's reign), he was transferred to the military service department at the age of 32 and first went to government office as a volunteer at a training center. In 1579, he served as a training center in Haemi for ten months. While volunteering at the training center, he refused a request from Byeong Jeong-rang and Seo Ik, who recommended his friend to join the training center. In July 1580, when he was 36 years old, he was transferred to the naval bayonet of Balsang, Jeolla-do. Balsam is located in Balsam-ri, Dohwa-myeon, Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do.
He refused to cut down the mudflats in Jusuyeong, Jeolla Province, while serving as a member of the Falsu County Manho, but was hated by Sung Park, a Buddhist monk in Jusu, Jeolla Province. Seong Bak ordered the military officer to cut down the odong tree in the official residence to make a Geomungo, but refused because he could not cut down the tree, the property of the country, for personal purposes. Sung Park then left a negative comment on Yi Sun-sin to his successor, and his successor, Jeonla Jwa-su, hated Yi Sun-sin. Yi Yong inspected five ports under the jurisdiction of Jwasuyeong: Balsam, Yeodo, Sado, Nokdo, and Bangdapjin. At this time, only three people in the port led by Yi Sun-sin were reported, not the other four. When Yi Sun-sin tried to investigate and report the results of the other four ports, Yi Yong immediately recovered Janggye. Lee Yong-eun rated his work performance as the lowest, and Cho Heon, who was serving as the Jeolla Provincial Governor, complained that it was unfair when he saw the details of the review and made him revise it. Later, Yi Yong changed his mind and transferred to Nam Byeongsa Temple in Hamgyeongnam-do, and recommended Yi Sun-sin as his military officer in 1583, and died as a magistrate of Geonwonbo.
In January 1582, Seo Ik came to Goheung-gun as a vice minister of military and police while serving as the Balfomanho. At that time, Saosik went to the firing squad and fired him because of poor military service. But he soon returned to work. In 1583, he became a military officer of Nam Byeong-sa upon the recommendation of the Hamgyeongnamdo Military Manpower Administration. He was appointed as a magistrate of Geonwonbo in August 1583.
Later, he went to Hamgyeongdo, the northern border, to defend the Yeojin people, and became a housewife in 1586 (the 19th year of King Seonjo's reign), and became a Josan Manho and Nokdo Dunjeonsa.Meanwhile, Kim Gwi-yeong, who watched him closely, called his sister-in-law to give him a concubine in 1579. On December 15, 1598, a huge Japanese fleet under the command of Shimazu Yoshihiro, was amassed in Sachon Bay, on the east end of Noryang Strait. His goal was to break the allied forces. Admiral Yi, meanwhile, knew exactly where Shimazu was, after receiving reports from scouts and local fishermen. The battle began at two o'clock in the early morning of December 16, 1598. During this time, a stray bullet from an enemy ship struck Admiral Yi, near his left armpit. Sensing that the wound was fatal, and fearing a repeat of the battle, the admiral uttered, "The war is at its height – wear my armor and beat my war drums. Do not announce my death."He died moments later. Only two people witnessed his death: Yi Hoe, Yi's eldest son, and Yi Wan, his nephew. Admiral Yi's son and nephew struggled to regain their composure and carried the admiral's body into his cabin before others could notice.
