🎯 Objective

In this 30-minute session, we will engage in a hands-on paper weaving activity inspired by ketupat, symbolizing teamwork, interconnectedness, and shared values.

GROUP ACTIVITY: PAPER WEAVING (10 minutes)

Each group will work together to weave paper strips into a pattern that symbolizes teamwork and collaboration.

These words symbolize the "ingredients" that make the team strong, just like rice fills a ketupat.

Materials Needed:

• Colored paper strips

• Markers for writing words on the strips.

• Scissors, glue, or tape for securing the strips.

Instructions:

1. Personal Contribution:

Each SEN-O writes TWO words on separate strips of paper:

• One word that represents a core team value (e.g., trust, communication, respect). – “Think about a great team you’ve been part of. What values made it strong?”

• One word that represents a personal strength (e.g., creativity, patience, leadership). – “What is something you bring to your team that makes it better?”

  
  

2. Weaving Process:

• Once the strips are written on, each team weave their strips together in a simple over-under pattern to form a ketupat-inspired pattern.

• Ensure that each strip represents a value that contributes to a strong, cohesive team.

• After completing the weaving, take a photo of the paper weaving product and upload onto the Padlet.

GROUP SHARING (15 MINS)

A representative from each team will then briefly share:

• What is the group's weaving product? Why the group choose to create that product?

• What values and strengths are represented in their paper weaving? How do these qualities help create a strong, cohesive team?

Second layer of strips:

White represents the school staff supporting the students.

Pink represents the parents.

Orange represents MOE, external agencies, pre-schools, post primary schools.
