Petas "Anti Fur" Movement had set brands in uproar, these brands produced clothing they were proud of, but ended up causing backlash. Society had taken over with canceling fur, not only was it bad for the earth, but it was financially unbearing to produce. "Talk to anyone in the fashion business and you can smell the anxiety. “Ralph did fur a long, long time ago,” a Ralph Lauren spokesman says pleadingly." Was stated in this article, Petas ways of stopping this trend were ongoing, they are still ongoing to modern day times, but have struck the fashion industry so negatively, they have stopped producing fir products for the most part, unless exclusive, such as a product with only two produced, this influenced brands to use faux fur today to slow down the effects of unsustainability.

https://nymag.com/news/features/48247/
