This system reads your glucose levels every 5 minutes and automatically adjusts insulin delivery by giving or holding insulin. It includes a subcutaneous sensor, an insulin pump and an infusion patch connected to the pump through a  catheter to deliver the insulin. These advances in control of diabetes will give diabetics more freedom and time back in their lives. Individuals who are able to receive and use this device will be able to live a life closer to normalcy. The need to closely monitor, self stick, and administer insulin is decreased giving individuals the ability to focus on everyday life without hassle. They must however, understand that this isn't a cure for type 1 Diabetes.
