Mellon was one of the "robber Barons"&nbsp; but he was unique because he excelled as businessman/banker, politician/statesman, art collector, and as a philanthropist. He was born in March 24, 1855 in Pittsburgh PA. He was appointed Secretary of the Treasury by new President Warren G. Harding in 1921. He served for 10 years and 11 months.          <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Daniel Drew was an American businessman, steamship and railroad developer, and financier. He was born in July 29, 1797 in Carmel, NY. He received little schooling and remained virtually illiterate throughout his life and worked in his father’s cattle business then entering the steamship business on the Hudson River by undercutting prevailing prices he prospered entering the steamship business on the Hudson River. Carnegie led the expansion of the American steel industry in the late 19th century and is often identified as one of the richest people ever. He was born in November 25, 1835, in Dunfermline, United Kingdom.&nbsp; In the steel industry he made $200 million but after living a long rich life he decided to help others. He started his philanthropic work to build libraries by making donations.
