Students will be come educated on the negative impacts of truancy and receive support to help them remain in school. The group will be available for students in grades 9th-10th grade or 13-16 years old. Students who are currently truant or at risk for becoming truant will have the opportunity to join group. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>To advertise for this group, the plan will include sending emails and letters home to parents. Parents will have the option to recommend their child for the group. An additional option will include sending referral forms to teachers and other staff to also recommend students. Students will have the option to also recommend students as well. Counselors will complete a lesson during elective classes with students to inform them about the group. Students will also receive referral forms during this time and have the opportunity to fill the form out at that point. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Students who are referred will be interviewed and assessed to determine  their  risk level. Students will be invited to participate based on a holistic approach. The number of absences, lower test scores, and poor academic performance will determine students who will be highly considered for the program. Only students in grades 9th-10th or ages 13-16 will be eligible to participate.  Group will take place collectively with all students. However, each student will have their own individual plan and be required to meet with their assigned counselor to discuss progress towards goals. </div>]]></description>

Only one warning will be given before you are dismissed from group and will have to meet with your counselor alone to continue the program.<br><br>Other rules will be determined based on input from the group.          <title>7. Group Dynamics</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. I plan to build trust and relationship with my group by establishing strong boundaries at the beginning of the group. The first meeting will be structured around creating the norms and flow for group. I will fully be myself while demonstrating to students how much of a safe zone group will be. Although student confidentiality is expected, it can not be guaranteed. This will be made clear to students. I will set clear boundaries to ensure that students understand this. Students will also be required to sign demonstrating that I have informed them of this. <br><br>2. I plan to keep members working and engaged by having fun activities for them to participate in every sessions. For examples, I will use engaging videos and outside guests speakers who to share their experiences. Students will also be fed at every session. Bi-weekly check ins are required to determine how well students are working towards their goals of remaining in school. <br><br>3. At the end of each group session, I will give students a survey to get their feedback on how they are feeling about group. I will closely monitor the feedback in order to determine if the group sessions are beneficial or if there are changes that may possibly need to be made to the lessons. Although group will have to end, I will encourage students to stay in contact with each other and support each other. Peer encouragement can sometimes go a lot further than adult encouragement can. Following the closure of group, students will still be required to finish out the overall program by meeting their goal of 95% attendance rate. I will inform students that their assigned counselor will meet with them weekly to discuss goals and how they are working towards their goals. </div>]]></description>

Therefor, they may begin to realize that they are not alone which is a great example of Universality. Altruism is important and may be seen during times when students are sharing sensitive moments and lifting up their peers while doing so. They may encourage each other to stick together and lean on each other. </div>]]></description>
