This quote shows that Mr.Derby telling clay that people with different color skin are different. He says that they don't matter as much and they have power over them. The Girl in this picture makes me think of this quote. Look at this picture deeply and really think. She is not happy and she looks sad or upset. This picture makes me think that she is not treated correctly and she feel different then everyone else.

This quote shows that they are all in this together. They held hands just like they did through the journey. This Picture shows people holding hands. It shows that whatever they are doing they are going through it together. They will not lave each other behind.

Miss. Derby child was given to Sara Jana. They didn't want Mr.Derby finding the baby so they gave it to her. Sara Jana gave up her own well being to help Miss. Derby. Even though it's not your child you still should love and take care of it. The picture I chose represent a child that can be taken care by anyone and should be helped and loved by anyone.

This quote stood out to me because it shows that Amari is not going to give up on life. She is going to keep pushing to believe. This picture represent another life forming and there surviving together and both growing together. She pushes to keep her life just like these plants are pushing to keeping themselves alive.

They got away from Clay! They will be safe at the place were they are at. This part in the book shows that they have succeed to get any from Clay and get away from slavery. The reason I put this picture as Triumph of Human Spirit because it makes it seem he is happy and he is proud of himself.

 Amari is saying that Tidbit is her son. She is willing to be his mother and she is willing to be family. The picture relates to the topic because there is a family of people and they might be taking care of there children and maybe others. Even if there fully not related in any way possible they still care and love for each other.
