Most architectures are made for different purposes whether as artforms, museums, attractions, etc. Form and function of architecture is very important because it will tell you whether the structure has a purpose and whether it is something that will last for quite some time. Form consists of the materials used in creating the architecture, technique is the manner of how the architecture was made. Architecture is considered an art form for me because of the creative process of how it is created. It involves the coordination of a lot of visual structural elements. One main difference between architecture and conventional art forms is that architecture has to obey safety and municipal guidelines as well as serve a functional purpose. Architecture just like art makes use of the sensory elements to enhance its design. Elements such as shape,color,texture,line, dark and light space. Architecture ranges from a large scale building, to a design of a stool, to the structure of a pen. Whether the design is functional, decorative, or alludes the infrastructure of an object , forms and function explores the relationship between the form of art and its function or purpose. 



The Dubai frame started it’s construction last 2013 and was completed last January 1,2018. It is located in Zabeel Park in Dubai, UAE. It stands at a 15o meter high and 93 meter wide structure. It has been described as the biggest picture frame in the world. It is also a modern way to represent the beautiful culture and diversity of Dubai. It is covered in gold colored stainless steel cladding, it is a 50 storey structure made from glass,steel and aluminium, I took notice of the materials that they have used because the architects took into account the environment that their structure was going to be in and it shows the form of the structure and it also shows that it was well thought out as well as how immensely creative it is.  The structure represents the past,present and future of Dubai because it is positioned in a way that the landmarks of modern Dubai such as the Burj Khalifa and the Emirate towers are seen when looking from one side and the older parts of the city such as Umm Harare , Karama and deira from the other. The function of the Dubai frame is that part of it is a museum with various 3D exhibits and the other area which is known as a ‘Sky deck’ has a 360 degree view of the whole city. It is a phenomenal piece of architecture that will surely leave you at awe.
