1. Openness is the extent to which it affects and is affected by factors outside of ones control. The more open a system is, the more factors can influence what happens in it.

2. An example would be relationship affected by other relationships such as Friends, Family and Work relationships. This would be an example of an external relationship.

3. Communication with the other peer to resolve such issue that may be causing any problems in this open environment.
For example when you talk to your parents about such issues and resolve them by asking for advice and guidance.

Explain Tension - External
"Wanting a relationship to be included in larger systems and wanting to keep the relationship private"

2. An example of this would be
how some celebrities choose to keep their relationships private and out of the public eye.

3. Option to resolve tension would be separation. The famous couple could make a public statement about how they are in a relationship but want to keep it out of the public eye as its part of their private lives. This would appeal to society and also allow them the privacy they desire.

Cathia, Dora, Jay

1. Connection/autonomy is the internal form of the larger dialect of integration and separation. This involves tension between wanting to integrate ourselves with each other and wanting to separate ourselves.
2. A common example of this tension is between parent and child relationships. Teenagers often want freedom but at the same time, they want to maintain a good relationship with their parents.
3. Neutralization is a solution to this tension. It's good to have a compromise of autonomy and connectivity. It also helps with the equity of the relationship since both parties feel that they are getting what they want from it.

1. The internal form of stability and change, because it happens between two people within a relationship
2. Example: Having a daily routine in a relationship which is mundane. Going to work, coming home, having dinner, watching netflix, and going to bed.
3. Resolution: There can be a couple different resolutions. One being separation - taking a vacation from the daily routine.
The second is reframing - consistency is nice during times of chaos.

Conventionality/Uniqueness (Bader Abdulwaseem, Adrian Clark, Karim Khlat)

1. The tension between conventionality and uniqueness is the desire to either conform to the status quo or to stand out and be unique.

2. An example would be for example traditional roles in the family such as the mother being the care taker normally in the family with the father providing the main financial support to the family. Sometimes there is some uniqueness to these roles with the mother sometimes being the "breadwinner" of the family which could be considered unique to some.

3. A way to resolve this tension might be for example to just ignore the conventional standards that society gives and just go with what makes one happy.
