When the Vietnam War began it was a frightening time for young Americans. The interviewee was sharing about how he knew people that were drafted or enlisted into the war. The way that citizens got drafted was a lot different then what was said in textbooks. Drafting was decided on their birth date. Media also was the big impact of how people felt about the war

The war wasn't really a big threat towards the United State. They were pretty much the ones that wanted to get involved in it. The U.S. was worrying so much about the spread of communism back in Vietnam. People were confused as to why we were doing this and why our government was exposed to the media that they saw in the news paper. Families that lost people in the war or friends, they would wear metal bracelets to show re cognition to the people who were missing or killed in the war.

Most people would say that the Vietnam War was a big mistake. We didn't accomplish our goal.

Economy was changed allowing us to vote at the age of 18 and because of this war there will never be another draft.

Many people American citizens were upset with the government and that they thought it was a bad idea in the first place because there was no point in stopping communism that was thousands of miles away.

If i could change the outcome of the war I would have decided not to go to war with Vietnam nor Korea.

Once the war was over it was really heartbreaking. Some friends and family members were lost just because they were drafted and forced to fight against their will. The Vietnam war is one war that America shouldn't be proud of, for once it looked as if we were the bad guys by killing almost 2 million civilians at the end of the year 1962.

Having a first hand experience of what was happening after the war and what a disappointment it was, none of the depressing things were mentioned in our textbooks. Lots of innocents died both on our side and their side. People that were in the draft must have been scared out of their mind also for the family members and friends that probably worried over them. More over, government media would also try to cover things that happened behind the scenes during the Vietnam War.
