  • The main goal with this project is to create a work group with child care providers (primarily Spanish-speaking ones) from Buena, Toppenish, Wapato, and Zillah in order to strengthen relationships and to support their work. 
  • We are in the process of evaluating whether a Resource Center would be of use to providers in this area or not. 
  • At this point in the project, we have reached out to 30+ providers, and have received feedback from 14 about the resources they have or may need to participate in our work group.

  • All of the HV programs funded by the HVSA are going to receive and influx of money for the coming year, which comes from the American Rescue Act, but we don't know how much yet. It will be money that needs to go straight through to the families. The programs that will receive it locally are the PAT program at Catholic Charities, the PAT program at YVFWC, NFP @ Children's Village and the Parent/Child Plus in West Valley.
  • West Valley will be using Emergency Relief (ESSER) funds for their summer school which will include sections of early learning for children who have not attended preschool during the past year but will be attending Kindergarten in the fall.
