         <description><![CDATA[<div>Benjamin was captured in the wild in 1933 and was then delivered to the Beaumaras Zoo. After the death of the zoo owner, the new owners of the zoo began to neglect Benjamin. He was locked out of his shelter nd forced to sleep in the cold. On September 7, 1936, Benjamin was found dead in his enclosure. Just 2 months earlier, in July of 1936, the Thylacine was granted protected status.</div>]]></description>
