Technological Knowledge: The teacher will need to know how to use the technology at their disposal. I have found that at our school there is a focus on finding an app that they can use in class. However I feel that there needs to be a focus on learning how to use the app in their pedagogy. Once they understand how the technology works, then they will be better prepared to figure out how to integrate that into their lessons.

Pedagogical Knowledge: Knowing the content and being able to teach it are two different things. To teach effectively, a teacher must understand their tools, resources and content. If what they are teaching is technology based, it can help to learn the content as a student so they can better understand the process of mastering the content and what challenges the student would have. The lesson they come up with will set the pace and tone of how the lesson will unfold. This part of the TPACK will keep students engaged and inspired.

Once teachers are competent in each of these areas, their teaching will naturally start resembling the Venn Diagram. I think the biggest area of work that needs to be done is to see how to incorporate Technological Knowledge into the teaching/learning process. In terms of standards, I think all content standards should be applied to this process. This should be the way we are all teaching our students our subjects.
