Justification of how G Suite for Education tools can encourage students to develop ethical digital citizenship practices, including how you plan to integrate some ideas into your classroom

Students are spending time in front of screens more than ever. Using technology is engaging for them, but are they being taught how to use technology ethically? I think this is where we come in as educators. G Suite provides many platforms to teach and help students develop ethical practices. These ethical practices are going to keep students safe when using technology, and make them aware. Google Sites is a great way to introduce a lot of aspects of ethical digital citizenship. While building a Google Site students will enhance their skill knowledge of how to format text, pictures, and other forms of content. They will also be able to practice digital design. Using Google sites they will start to understand that a published website is viewable to others and will be a representation of themselves. Additionally, inside the site best practices can be taught for how to use images and videos, as well as how to cite sources properly.

I plan to integrate a lot of the ideas I discussed above by using Google Sites. I plan on creating an informational site to post to my students Google Classroom for them to learn from. Then later on I would like to have students create a Google Site as a portfolio. This online portfolio would be really neat to show parents at our second set of parent teacher conferences in March. To measure growth I am going to give my students a Google Form survey before they learn about Google Sites and then again at the end of the year.
