The bump, as known as a pass, is the most basic and essential skill in volleyball. The bump is used to hit a ball that is below the head, and is typically used as the first touch to receive a serve or to receive a pass from teammates.

In order to be successful in this sport, you must know the basics, and bumping is the most important skill.

1. The correct arm postures,

2. How our legs are positioned in a ready stance before we bump the ball.

3. Calling out when receving the ball.

1. Form up with a partner. Have the partner toss the ball towards you.

2. The ball should move towards you in an arc higher than your height.

3. Contact and bump the ball back to the tosser.

Target:

5 successful bumps with the ball at the correct contact area of your arms.
