While Marcus was talking about traffic patterns, he stated that the FastTrak does not have an off switch. Whenever Marcus was arguing with his dad, he said that the cops were not catching any terrorists, just making people scared. After Marcus met Van in the park, they fought about the Xnet and arphids. Then, Marcus explains about the Department of Homeland Security's systems not being accurate. Then finally, Marcus' dad admits to being pulled over twice by the cops and getting home three hours late from work.

In this chapter Marcus explains the "false positive." He gives the example of a test for Super-AIDS. If one in a million people have Super-AIDS, and the test is 99% accurate, it will identify ten thousand people as having it. So therefore, terrorism tests are no where near 99% accurate. In this chapter Marcus also talks about arphid cloners. Arphid cloners take the numbers from credit cards, passports, and car keys. Marcus takes these numbers and switches them with other people's numbers.
