In Mark and Luke, it either speaks of a fast or famine; it relates to the topic of food. That means that the prophet is not accepted anywhere, for his messages irk the people around him. This tells a message that the prophets are not loved by the people, for they are the ones telling the truth about their future and spreading God's message. In the passages, Jesus went away because of the people's lack of faith. "And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith," and "They got up, drove him out of the town, and led him to the brow of the hill on which their town was built, so that they might hurl him off the cliff. But he passed through the midst of them and went on his way."
