Creating a meaningful new K-12 General Music curriculum for East Irondequoit CSD in August 2024.

Finding ways to individualize music experiences and learning for students in my 12:1:4 and 8:1:1 special education class.

Increasing our Pre-k Music special time from 25 minutes to 45 minutes.

Going from 2 instructional coaches to 1 in our building and working with teachers I have never worked with before, with curriculum I have not used before.

Improving our school state assessment scores in the elementary school with a focus on multiple choice and short response questions.

Focusing on utilizing developmentally appropriate interventions that are aligned with our tier 1 instruction.

I am will be teaching with a different co-teacher who is brand new to our school, and I am not sure what our co-teacher relationship will be like. My other co-teacher and I worked really well together, and I am sad I will not be with them again this year.

Helping my 10th graders who really struggle to read gain access to the global material.

Having more time in resource room to help students work toward their IEP goals, and not focusing solely on catching them up on missed work.

Not enough time. As a self-contained teacher, I am the SPED teacher and the general ed teacher. I teach general ed curriculum and run a classroom as well as progress monitoring IEP goals, drafting IEPs, attending CSE meetings.

Multi-grade level classroom. Teaching students in multiple grade levels demands being able to be flexible, etc.

Giving students more ownership/choice/buy-in over their learning.

Teaching kids how to use AI properly. I did like the red, yellow, and green light idea.

Trying to decide the most appropriate way to use it with 3rd grade (teacher resource, students, or both).

Making sure students that use it are doing so appropriately.

Making sure that all Chromebooks for the students are functioning and able to use.

Using AI to create resources that can be used as quizzes and check ins with the students.

Creating assessment strategies that will be quick, individualized and assesses their final attempt not practice attempts.

Finding the time to observe all students complete the skill and the time for reattempts if needed.
