In Grade 6, students investigate how energy is transported and changed. For example:
Photosynthesis is the process by which plants convert sunlight into chemical energy.
Electrical energy from a battery can be converted into light energy in a bulb.
Mechanical energy in a moving vehicle is derived from chemical energy stored in fuel.
Electrical circuits play an important role in Term 3 work. Students are introduced to basic circuits, which include:
A battery (cell) as an energy source
Wires that conduct electricity
The output device could be a lamp or a buzzer.

Students learn about series and parallel circuits, as well as the necessity of electrical safety.

Energy is a crucial part of our daily life, but it must be used carefully. Saving energy lowers costs and preserves the environment. Learners are urged to consider renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and hydropower.

In conclusion, Term 3 teaches students that energy is necessary, comes in various forms, and may transform from one to another. This knowledge serves as the foundation for comprehending technology and solving real-world problems.

Circuit - A complete, unbroken pathway or loop through which an electric current can flow.

Circuit Diagram - A simplified drawing that uses special symbols to represent the components in an electrical circuit.

Conductor - A material that allows electricity or heat to flow through it easily (e.g., most metals like copper).

Electric Current - The flow of electric charge (usually electrons) through a conductor.

Energy - The ability to do work or make things happen. It can exist in different forms like movement, heat, light, and electrical energy.

Fossil Fuels - Fuels (like coal, oil, and natural gas) formed from the remains of ancient plants and animals over millions of years. They are a non-renewable energy source.

Generator - A device that converts mechanical energy (movement) into electrical energy.

Insulator -A material that does not allow electricity or heat to flow through it easily (e.g., plastic, rubber, wood).

Mains Electricity - The general-purpose electrical power supply that is delivered to homes, schools, and businesses through power lines and wall sockets.

Non-Renewable Resource - A natural resource that cannot be replaced as quickly as it is used up (e.g., coal, oil).

Renewable Energy - Energy that comes from sources that are naturally replenished and will not run out, such as sunlight, wind, and water.

Solar Panel -A device that converts energy from sunlight directly into electricity.

Source - The place where something comes from. In a circuit, it is where the energy comes from (e.g., a battery).

Switch - A device used to break (open) or complete (close) a circuit, thereby turning an electrical device on or off.

Symbol - A simple picture or shape that represents a component in a circuit diagram (e.g., a zigzag line represents a bulb).

System - A set of connected parts that work together for a specific purpose (e.g., an electrical circuit is a system for transferring energy).

Turbine - A machine with blades that is made to spin by the pressure of water, steam, or air. It is used to turn a generator in a power station.

Crocodile clip wire- is an insulated electrical lead with a spring-loaded, serrated metal clip, known as a crocodile or alligator clip, on one end, designed for creating temporary, flexible electrical connections by gripping wires, terminals, or components.

Doing this task on Energy and Change was a great opportunity to learn and at the same time refreshing my mind on the previous knowledge regarding energy and change. I found it very interesting especially the part where I had to build and explain the electrical circuit. This made me realize how I actually enjoy  Natural Science and Technology. It gave me the chance to investigate many sources and expand my creativity level in many ways. I had found this task very insightful and enriching. This made me realize that learners should do more practical task or assignment at school.
