         <description><![CDATA[<p>Grade 6 Natural Science and Technology, Term 3: Energy and Change.<br><br>Energy is the capacity to conduct labor or effect change. In Natural Science, we discover that energy is required to move things, heat objects, and generate light and sound. Energy has several forms, including kinetic energy (movement, sound, heat, and electricity) and potential energy (stored in chemicals, food, batteries, or stretched elastic).</p><p>In Grade 6, students investigate how energy is transported and changed. For example:<br>Photosynthesis is the process by which plants convert sunlight into chemical energy.<br>Electrical energy from a battery can be converted into light energy in a bulb.<br>Mechanical energy in a moving vehicle is derived from chemical energy stored in fuel.<br>Electrical circuits play an important role in Term 3 work. Students are introduced to basic circuits, which include:<br>A battery (cell) as an energy source<br>Wires that conduct electricity<br>The output device could be a lamp or a buzzer.</p><p>Students learn about series and parallel circuits, as well as the necessity of electrical safety.<br><br>Energy is a crucial part of our daily life, but it must be used carefully. Saving energy lowers costs and preserves the environment. Learners are urged to consider renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and hydropower.<br><br>In conclusion, Term 3 teaches students that energy is necessary, comes in various forms, and may transform from one to another. This knowledge serves as the foundation for comprehending technology and solving real-world problems.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Creating the Padlet on Energy and Change was an excellent learning opportunity. It gave me the opportunity to investigate various sources of energy and think creatively about how to display information. I especially enjoyed creating the brochure and typing the Grade 6 CAPS summary since it helped me grasp the material better. The Padlet also allowed me to collaborate with my group members and unite our ideas into a single digital environment. I learned that energy is vital not only in science but also in everyday life, and we must use it carefully.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Battery - </strong>A container consisting of one or more cells, in which chemical energy is converted into electricity and used as a source of power.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Circuit - </strong>A complete, unbroken pathway or loop through which an electric current can flow.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Circuit Diagram - </strong>A simplified drawing that uses special symbols to represent the components in an electrical circuit.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Conductor - </strong>A material that allows electricity or heat to flow through it easily (e.g., most metals like copper).</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Electric Current - </strong>The flow of electric charge (usually electrons) through a conductor.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Energy - </strong>The ability to do work or make things happen. It can exist in different forms like movement, heat, light, and electrical energy.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Fossil Fuels - </strong>Fuels (like coal, oil, and natural gas) formed from the remains of ancient plants and animals over millions of years. They are a non-renewable energy source.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Generator - </strong>A device that converts mechanical energy (movement) into electrical energy.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Insulator</strong> -A material that does not allow electricity or heat to flow through it easily (e.g., plastic, rubber, wood).</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Mains Electricity -  </strong>The general-purpose electrical power supply that is delivered to homes, schools, and businesses through power lines and wall sockets.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Non-Renewable Resource - </strong>A natural resource that cannot be replaced as quickly as it is used up (e.g., coal, oil).</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Renewable Energy - </strong>Energy that comes from sources that are naturally replenished and will not run out, such as sunlight, wind, and water.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Solar Panel -</strong>A device that converts energy from sunlight directly into electricity.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Source - </strong>The place where something comes from. In a circuit, it is where the energy comes from (e.g., a battery).</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Switch - </strong>A device used to break (open) or complete (close) a circuit, thereby turning an electrical device on or off.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Symbol - </strong>A simple picture or shape that represents a component in a circuit diagram (e.g., a zigzag line represents a bulb).</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>System - </strong>A set of connected parts that work together for a specific purpose (e.g., an electrical circuit is a system for transferring energy).</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Turbine - </strong>A machine with blades that is made to spin by the pressure of water, steam, or air. It is used to turn a generator in a power station.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong> Crocodile clip wire-</strong> is an insulated electrical lead with a spring-loaded, serrated metal clip, known as a crocodile or alligator clip, on one end, designed for creating temporary, flexible electrical connections by gripping wires, terminals, or components.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

It allowed us to move beyond just reading the CAPS document and actively engage with it. By being tasked with creating a glossary, voice note, video, and worksheet, and researching and organising the information, I now have a much deeper understanding of the content. It was a pleasure working with my team members, and I appreciate all of the hard work we have done in order for this Padlet to be effective and enjoyable.</p>]]></description>

It gave me the chance to investigate many sources and expand my creativity level in many ways. I had found this task very insightful and enriching.
