UNESCO (ref. UNESCO)

Kvalifikationer

Hvordan ansøger man?

From Central Space to Urban Place.

Kandidatpraktik inkl. specialeemne, Afdeling for Lokal Kulturarv

The internship will be carried out in connection to two separate projects (Veterans in Archaelogy & DIME) which are both centered around public archaeology and citizen science. The internship tasks will consist of a wide range of various assignments and will provide the intern with the opportunity to acquire skillsets pertaining to such tasks as

● Maintaining correspondence with citizen participants,

● SoMe and website,

● Research support, data gathering and smaller writing tasks

● Fieldwork

● Video-editing

● Planning participation in on-site citizen science events

● Compiling of data

Expect that we will make efforts to design the internship responsibilities according to the interns qualifications as well as their wishes regarding what kinds of tasks they would prefer in relation to what skillsets they would like to see develop during the internship period.

The nature of the internship, divided between two projects and being centered around public archaeology/citizen science, means that it will entail a certain degree of adhoc participation in various tasks - some of which we cannot list presently. These include records on a multiplicity of topics, among them portions of the archives of UNESCO's safeguarding campaigns - the International Campaigns for the Safeguarding of the Nubian Monuments in Egypt, the Borobudur Temple in Indonesia, and Carthage in Tunisia. Our aim is to treat the damaged records so they receive the care they need now and over the long-term, and so researchers can eventually consult them through digitization.

This project examines the role of various intergovernmental or non-state organisations (e.g. UNESCO, NGOs, diaspora organisations etc.) and transborder communities in shaping and responding to emerging transnational relations of culture and political ambition.

For more information, see: https://www.hbcproject.com/home

Internship Brief:

This internship offers a structured, research-based experience designed to provide direct scholarly engagement and professional development.
