Crime is a form of deviant behavior that transgresses the formal criminal law. Deviance is behavior that goes against social norms and laws.Although the terms crime and deviance are sometimes used together they differ slightly. Crimes are violations of social laws, whereas reckless deviance is a violation of social norms and laws. Deviant behavior, meanwhile, can also lean on the side of criminal behavior.Rape, murder, domestic violence, robbery, assault, assault, arson, vandalism, fraud, drug abuse, and animal cruelty are examples of formal deviant behavior that violates established laws. This changes overtime with the crime rate and how many people have died

Deviance is behavior that goes against social norms and is looked down upon. The relationship lies in that some deviant behavior is so bad that laws are put in place to punish that behavior. Crime is behavior that violates those laws. Deviance can be used as an umbrella term. Our understandings of crime and deviance are subject to change depending on the state of which the society we live in. For example, the recreational use of marijuana was looked like degenerative behavior/ illegal and now in our recent times it is the norm and now we even have public dispensaries.

The relationship between crime and deviance is that crime is considered something that isn't in the norm/rules or law, when deviance is considered to be outside of the norm. So, since the definition of deviance is kind of connected to crime in that way, when someone does something that is considered to be different in public, such as picking their nose, or yelling, someone can consider them to be a deviant. It technically is a neutral term but, in the society we live in it becomes considered a negative one. Over time, the word deviant isn't used as frequently but due to how it was always considered to be a negative term toward people to this day.

Some people do use crime as a way to be form of deviance to go against society. For example, Dealing with drugs, domestic violence, fraud and this can be looked as a criminal. but for deviant it can be looked as when burping as an adult around other people in the bus, or picking your nose in a classroom around your classmates.In society now people do think for deviance it's can be considered as negative cause your not acting your age or if it's just weird for you to be doing that in front of others and that's someways natural but also negative since it's violates the social norms. But for criminals it's a negative effect because you are doing something that violates the law . But overall deviant and crime are looked as in a different but negative way and it can change depend on the situations toward the people's eyes.

This is another way the relationship between crime and deviance is demonstrated. Crime and deviance changes and varies by state. Abortion is an example of this as it use to be legal and now is illegal in some states. When there were rape cases some women would go and get abortions and would out their rapist. Abortion was then looked upon and others would tell those who want abortions not to commit and harm the baby. While now that abortion is illegal in some states more people are pro abortion due to the crimes such as rape that can be committed to impregnate women.

A crime is a type of deviance because committing a crime would be going against social norms and doing an act society frowns upon. Although, a crime is a type of deviance, the negative nature of a crime does not go both ways in defining deviance. Deviance is just going against social norms, negative or positive. In this case crime goes against laws in a certain area while deviance goes against gender norms or just action that are not suppose to be happening at that given time. Individuals understanding of crime and deviance are subject to change over time by moving to a different area. For example if you work in a daycare it's not seen as deviance that children are picking their noses but if the grown ups running the daycare are picking their nose every second like the children their actions will be seen as deviance. Another example, in Kentucky vets there are not allowed to report dogs being abused while in New York you can get arrested for abusing a dog. So in Kentucky harming towards dogs aren't a crime but in New York it is.

Deviance is the behavior that one may acquire that is not admired by society. For example; a person who decides to lick his fingers during the middle of a speech is not doing anything illegal however, this action makes everyone else around him uncomfortable making his action deviant. There is no punishment towards this man besides being looked down upon. Crime on the other hand is influenced by deviance and what is seen as a norm. For example; at a point of American history, liquor was illegal in the United States, which means anyone that was to drink liquor was committing a crime at the time. However, due to lack of deviance seen in a person that was drinking liquor, drinking liquor became normalized even though it was illegal. This caused the government to legalize liquor due to the lack of deviance of drinking liquor. Therefore, deviance is the opinion of a certain action or idea by society in a negative way, while a crime is an implemented rule of what's wrong by the authority of a certain society to keep their civilization in a state of comfort.

Deviance is more of a behavior or act rather than a punishable crime. A crime would be something that goes against the law and can get you incarcerated. deviance can lead to crime in some cases and that would get you locked up if you were to be caught. over time crimes in new york at least would somewhat subside because of the extreme use of cameras and AI being able to use facial recognition to detect people. in 10-15 years they might have multiple forms of detecting someone through cameras, nightvision, thermal hypersensitivity. The list goes on and on as technology advances deviancy goes up and down. it can go up through the forms of more advanced hackers that can one day be able get through the pentagon and steal american files. who knows. the future is coming fast and we need to start getting prepared.

Crimes can be defined as an action or doing that is against the law. Laws and repercussions were established to not have people act as deviants. Deviance itself, is when someone goes against the societal norms that we have established; what's good and bad. Both deviance and crime are closely related and are assumed to both be related to each other which is not entirely true. For instance, one might be seen as a deviant for staying out late with friends but it isn't a crime. A crime is more specific where as deviance can and is used more frivolously in our society to describe someone or something when they'e not aligning to our social norms or ideals.
