This Turn and Talk was found at the end of a fifth grade Scholastic Reading lesson. This lesson asked students to draw conclusions from evidence they gathered while reading. I would quickly move around the room, listening to partners talk and making note of anyone who is not siting evidence. I will pull these students for reteaching when the rest of the group goes off to ind. work.

This Phonics check in was found in Week 1 of the 3rd grade Phonics lesson. After reviewing the phonics pattern for the week I would review the words as listed by having students write them on whiteboards. I would then make note of students who need more work on this pattern or students who have done really well to structure their WIN time to provide more small group support or add in new long a patterns/harder words for kids who have the ai,ay pattern down

FastBridge Inteventions

I used FastBridge to guide my instruction with my students. Each intervention has an assessment section where I can assign the recommended assessment to my students. I also use Ablespace, enter each of my kiddo's IEP goals and then bi-weekly or weekly take notes on where they are currently and progress monitor.

The 4K Scholastic Curriculum provides a guiding question for each read aloud text. During reading there are several prompts/questions to ask. At the end of the book students are to turn and talk to discuss the guiding question.

Mystery Science has discussion prompts build into each presentation. These can be used for teachers to pause and ask students to reflect or respond aloud, helping gauge comprehension and what material might need to be reviewed or emphasized.

At the elementary level, I am wondering how we can utilize Seesaw to incorporate CFU's assess student learning, but also communicate learning with families. An example I thought of was entering the Put it in Writing Prompt in Seesaw and having students respond. That would also serve an opportunity to track progress and provide feedback when needed.

I also use various FastBridge resources especially because I co-teach with general education teachers. These resources help us better tailor the lessons to our students needs.
