This year was even more special because Declan was home from college and I loved spending that time together as a family. We drove about an hour to Long Valley, NJ where we found the perfect fir tree to cut down and take home for Christmas. It is not completely decorated yet, but we are working on it! I just love this tradition and look forward to it every year! I think it is a pretty beautiful tree! Last year, we did a Christmas Light scavenger hunt where we checked things off a list when we found them. We found things like Santa, angels, snowmen, candy canes, elves, and snowflakes. Sometimes we bring hot cocoa in the car. We like to wear our Christmas PJs. My favorite houses have Santa and his sleigh with elves on the edge. We listen to holiday music and pick out a tree the weekend of Thanksgiving. We love celebrating by going to Disney on Ice, baking sweet treats, and finding as many Santas as we can in December! One of our favorite traditions is riding the Polar Express. We dress up in matching pjs and take a train ride all the way to the North Pole. Francesca’s loves finding Elf (on a shelf) Peppermint Pasquale and opening the next door on her Advent Calendar(s). Her Grampy & Bella live up there, along with a bunch of her Aunt’s, Uncle’s and Cousins - about 18 people total ;) This is a ton of fun as we get to play in the abundance of snow, go skiing, and just hang with family we usually can’t see. We stay up there as long as we can and usually come back after the new year.

We use white lights in the front yard, and colorful lights in the backyard. It is so much fun! We put lots of holiday signs and decorations in our front yard, too.
