Lehumo is making good progress in body awareness and can correctly name most of his basic body parts. He enjoys participating in movement songs, such as “Walking Through the Forest,” which involve naming and using different body parts while moving forwards and backwards. His coordination has improved greatly, and he has gained better control over his movements, especially when climbing up and down the climbing wall. Well done, Lehumo!

Fine Motor:

Lehumo has shown great progress in his fine motor skills. He excels in activities such as drawing and threading beads and enjoys building with small Lego blocks, demonstrating increasing concentration. His cutting skills still need encouragement as he is learning to hold scissors correctly. His crayon grip has improved significantly, and he is becoming more confident when tracing patterns on his worksheet. With continued practice, he will further strengthen his hand muscles and improve control and accuracy.

Gross Motor:

Lehumo is energetic and enjoys outdoor play. He moves with confidence and control, whether running, jumping or balancing. He shows enthusiasm for obstacle courses and demonstrates improved coordination skills. With ongoing participation in physical play, his balance and muscle strength will continue to develop. He is excited during ball games and demonstrates excellent control when kicking the ball around cones and to his friends.

Visual Development:

Lehumo is developing strong visual perceptual skills. He can identify and recognise most shapes and colours. He finds joy in matching and sorting activities, such as placing a ball into the correct colour hoop. He is learning to recognise differences and similarities in pictures. He can complete a three-piece puzzle and is learning to build a six-piece puzzle. Continued exposure to visual games will support his concentration and spatial awareness. Keep practising, Lehumo. Auditory Development:

Lehumo listens attentively during story time and follows instructions well. He confidently identifies sounds in his environment, such as cars and trucks. He takes great joy in singing along to familiar songs, such as “The Wheels on the Bus.” He particularly enjoyed listening to wild animal sounds and had fun mimicking the roar of a lion and the sound a buffalo makes. Continued listening activities will further strengthen his auditory memory and language comprehension.

Lehumo loves participating in creative activities and responds positively to painting and drawing, particularly when using a small paintbrush. He is learning to greet others and name familiar objects in another language, and takes pride in singing the national anthem. He responds well to visual cues, such as identifying the picture of a dog on a flashcard and demonstrating the sign for “dog” in sign language. He enjoys imitating simple signs and words, and with continued exposure and practice, his confidence and understanding in this area will continue to grow.

He enjoys counting activities and loves counting along with rhymes such as “Five Little Ducks.” He looks forward to sorting objects into different containers and can identify most basic shapes and colours. He recognises most colours, except black and grey, and is still learning to identify the rectangle and hexagon. He can count confidently up to ten and is continuing to develop his recognition of written numbers.
