I notice that early literacy involves much more than just teaching children to read or write words. It includes helping them communicate, express ideas, and understand what they hear and see. It begins from the moment a child is born through listening, observing, and interacting with others. This means that families, caregivers, and teachers all play a very important role in developing these early skills.

When I see young children enjoying stories, asking questions, or trying to write their first words, I can tell they’re building important skills for the future. I notice that those who are encouraged to read and talk early often become more confident and curious learners.

I also wonder what types of stories, rhymes, or educational games would be most effective in helping them remember new words, strengthen their vocabulary, and develop a love for language. Additionally, I wonder how I can best support children who find reading difficult, providing tailored guidance, extra practice, and positive reinforcement to help them overcome challenges, build confidence, and experience success. I am curious about strategies that make reading enjoyable and accessible for all learners, ensuring that every child feels motivated, included, and excited to explore the world of books.

I notice that writing starts with simple scribbles and drawings, which are important first steps for helping children learn how to form letters and words. Writing helps children connect the language they speak with its written form, making it easier for them to express their thoughts and ideas on paper. Activities like crafts, cutting, coloring, and drawing not only make learning fun but also help develop the small muscles in their hands and fingers, which are essential for holding a pencil and writing neatly. These activities give children practice with coordination and control, preparing them for more advanced writing tasks and helping them gain confidence in their ability to communicate through writing.
