Assessment for learning can also be called formative assessment. It is when teachers assess what a student already knows and then bases their teaching on what a student does not know. We should routinely assess students before a unit of work so that we can start our teaching at the exact point the student needs rather than them learning things they already know or starting the teaching at a point too far ahead of what the student knows. It enables the teacher to work out the Zone of proximal development for individual students.
The UDL framework enables teachers to design lessons that are all students can engage in regardless of any additional need. It may be through the use of technologies for example a student with low reading levels might use text to speech to engage with the work or a student with low writing skills might use speech to text to engage with the lesson. UDL allows for flexible lessons to be planned in the beginning rather than teachers rushing to make changes when students cannot engage with the material provided.

Assessment for learning is the process of a series of exchanges between learner and teacher that allows for the teacher to best understand where students are at and how to get them to their goals.
Universal Design for Learning is the development of a curriculum and way of teaching that allows all students to use their own diverse skills in a way that allows them to achieve goals that are valid and relevant to them.
In my experience I have not used ADL as all of the work I do is thoroughly recorded on program specific data sheets.
I have however used UDL techniques of identifying the strengths of my clients and building them into their learning strategies and working towards socially valid goals.

First I can't help but point out the title here reads like footy and drinks :)
Assessment for learning is the process of collecting data/evidence of student work/outcomes so that teachers can use this to inform them of a students current knowledge, future areas for focus and best way to get there.
Universal design for learning is a framework (which i have printed, laminated and played with!) for ensuring that lessons are delivered with consideration to learners diversity and inclusion.
We have inclusive teaching practices and expectations at my work and it is easy to forget the little things we do naturally to be inclusive of of our students and learning community but the UDL is a great tool to give some more ideas and inspiration.

An assessment is used to determine how well learners are meeting instructional goals. As we know that assessments should offer more than one route for demonstrating mastery; however, each route has its own construct such as knowledge, skills, and abilities to be assessed. Many assessments include features that are not relevant to the construct being assessed, and those features may pose barriers for some learners and impact their performance on the assessment. That's where Universal Design for Learning (UDL) has a role to play.

UDL is a way of addressing the different learning needs of students. The purpose of UDL is to provide a framework for creating instructional goals, assessments, methods, and materials that work for all students regardless of their background with an equal opportunity to learn and succeed in the classroom.

Designing assessments with 3 principles (representation, action and expression, engagement) of UDL will increase accessibility and allow for greater flexibility to ensure more success for more students.

Assessment for learning is 'formative assessment'. Teachers use their knowledge of what their students know and how they learn best to direct their teaching and the learning process.
UDL is a framework for encouraging teachers to design learning that suits all learners through multiple means of engagement, representation and action or expression. As an educator UDL should be in the forefront of your mind when planning lessons so that all students are catered for and hopefully achieve positive learning outcomes!
