Lehman Caves and Great Basin National Park have been through a tremendous amount of human interaction. By 2007 at least one million people have walked through these systems and the impact they had on this environment was showing. Park Rangers have put staircases, wooden seats, and cables all over the caves. Many of people are working to restore the caves' natural state to keep it as genuine as possible, but still safe.

The cave that I visited wasn't located in NV- in fact it was across the country. I remember stalagmites and stalactites hanging around (similar to the picture.) I remember some fell every now and then and we had to be extremely careful as the caves were very wet and cold. Though it was so long ago, I especially remember running my hands along the walls and feeling some type of insect, and to be genuine, that ruined the rest of the trip for me. Looking back, I could tell that even with my 7 year old mine I acknowledged the diverse amount of species around me and why we had to be extremely cautious while walking through.
