John Michael Osbourne, born December 3rd 1948 in Marston Green, England, had been known for many things, such as Black Sabbath, his activities with Motley Crue, and his addictions. Let's dive in and dive deep into the life of the legendary Ozzy Osbourne.

Growing up in a working-class family, Ozzy grew up with many struggles, especially his dyslexia which had caused him to drop out of school at only age 15 due to the difficulties his learning issues had brought on him. A few years later, he was arrested and charged with a count of burglary after becoming involved with petty crimes which then resulted in a brief prison sentence. Despite his struggles, he found peace in music, inspired by The Beatles. How does one inspired by The Beatles go on to create a band like Black Sabbath? We might not ever know..

After years of finding inspiration and peace through music he co-founded a band called 'Earth' which later became the legendary rock band 'Black Sabbath', joined by Tommi Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, who all then created the genre of heavy metal which many people have grown to love throughout the years. Crazy, isn't it? But that's how it goes.

After 11 years of rocking with Black Sabbath, Ozzy was later on dismissed from the band due to a heavy addiction to substances which then caused the quality of their music to decline drastically.

Not long after being dismissed, Ozzy started his solo career and released 13 albums which were highly successful, not long after that, his wife Sharon founded Ozfest which was a music festival just based on heavy metal, this lasted 20 years. You could clearly see that he was going through changes.

In the early years of the 2000's, Ozzy and his family started a reality show called 'The Osbourne's' which handled all kinds of drama, from Kelly's wobblers, to Ozzy chasing pets around, to Ozzy's love for screaming "SHARONNNN" all of which are iconic although Ozzy happened to be high on drugs during most of the filming. It seemed to be clear that he was most definitely going off the rails on a crazy train.

Ozzy had faced many health problems throughout his life as you would expect from someone heavily addicted to drugs and alcohol and who happened to have snorted a line of ants, licked up his own and Tommy Lee's urine, and who has bitten off a live bats head after mistaking it for a rubber toy. In 2003, he was injured with a broken neck, a collarbone, and 6 broken ribs from a quad-bike accident, but 16 years later in 2019 he had many spinal surgeries, including one to repair rods that were placed in his back from the accident.

Unfortunately, in 2020, he revealed his diagnosis of Parkinsons that had actually been diagnosed in 2003. His declining health had made him avoid the stage until July 2025 when he hosted the Back To The Beginning show with Black Sabbath, and many other musicians such as Panera, YUNGBLUD, Metallica, Ghost, and more, in Villa Park, Birmingham.

After the show, Ozzy and his family attended Comic Con Birmingham, allowing people to be an extortionate price of over £600 to meet him and his family before his tragic passing later on 22nd July 2025 due to Parkinsons and Cardiac Arrest at age 76.

Q1: Was there anything about the performance you were worried about, and why?

Answer: Before the performance I was quite worried about messing up, especially on Don't Look Back In Anger as I didn't know it that well and learned it without 5 minutes during a rehearsal.

Q2: What were you confident about before the performance, and why?

Answer: I wasn't really too confident about much other than how I knew I wouldn't mess up on Zombie.

Q3: What do you feel went well during the performance?

Answer: We had a good amount of support even though there was a bit of pressure, I think the first song went very well but the second song could have been worked on a bit.

Q4: What could have gone better?

Answer: I think the volume of the amps could have been fixed a bit due to drastic differences and the tunes of the guitars.

Q5: What would you do differently next time?

Answer: I would make sure to practice more so I am certain I wont mess up.

The task was to create a theme that had a spooky halloween vibe as it was Halloween. I tried to achieve a theme that sounded like it would be played in a slasher film during one of the murder scenes with a pulsing heartbeat as a bass. I think the assignment went alright but i could have added a bit more to it. This made me learn how to explore different techniques and how to make different beats work together.

Evaluation:

The task was to pick a movie scene and make a theme for that scene. I picked a scene from Scary Movie as it is one of my favourite films, so I tried to achieve the creation of a sound that goes with the scene of Cindy being attacked by ghostface and i think it went well, i messed around with a bit of violin htroughout it to give off an eerie vibe.

I think we did really well, we could have maybe worked on getting it done faster as it did take a lot of time for us to finish it. I like the use of different chords and the barre chords as it gives many different sounds in the song and it has a sad feel which works great for the theme of protesting as protests are always about something sad that people want to stop. I liked how Me and Colm used different strumming patterns to mess wuth dynamics while James was picking the chords.

Overall we done good.

It was originally made from lyrics I wrote a while ago and I shown them to quinn and me altered them a lot and made it our own, basing the song off of a toxic relationship I recently got out of.

I took minor chords and switched them around a lot too but then settled with the 4 chords.
