With this in mind you should have your midpoint completed and be looking to complete one of your EoC or your Medicines management.

I would also suggest completing any proficiencies you can as you never know if you’ll be sick in the next placement or unable to achieve something.

Sickness and absence

If you are sick on placement this is ok, however you will need to call your ward as early as possible to inform them that you will not be coming. You then have to inform them for every shift you will miss.

You also need to text the sickness and absence line on: 07860018968

This is to ensure you are safe and we know that you have contacted someone to inform them you are sick

Link Lecturers

Whilst on placement a Lecturer from City will attend or organise meetings/ be your contact whilst on placement

I am still here for support, but they will also be within the placement to aid you on any queries. Please contact them if you are needing support early.

Email Signatures for on and off placement

Please ensure you have set an automatic email signature for both your phone and laptop/device. This helps however you are emailing have a good understanding of who you are. It should look like this:

Action Plans

If you are marked as not achieving a professional value, this will mean you require an action plan. If this does happen please contact your link lecturer and Academic Assessor.

Make a plan

Whilst on any placement area please complete any proficiencies or episodes of care (EoC) that are applicable for the area. This will mean you are spreading the work across your placements. You never know if you may be sick or unable to complete something somewhere else.

Plan out your midpoint in your initial interview meeting.

Signing in the ePAD

If someone has signed to say that they have assessed you in completing a proficiency, EoC or MM please ensure they are placed in your PA/PS allocation.

REMEMBER: Your PA's Email is essentially their signature and they have to put it in.

Any placement queries, please speak to your academic assessor, link lecturer or personal tutor.
