Can you think of other characters in stories you have read that persevere through their conflicts? en-us 2017-11-13 00:01:11 UTC 2017-11-13 02:40:45 UTC hello@padlet.com josephkeenan22 https://padlet.com/josephkeenan22/g4xd6kn9m0oc/wish/206061344 It is my opinion that one of the main themes of this book is perseverance and how our main character, Salva, shows this.  When faced with difficult situations, he doesn't give up or step back; in fact, he pushes forward and remains unbroken.  Salva is constantly working toward achieving goals after learning this from his Uncle Jewiir.  It is no easy task to venture across the desert.  Just when Salva thinks he may give up, his Uncle gives him advice that we can use in our everyday lives.  Large goals look enormous when looking at the big picture,  However, when we break these enormous tasks and goals down into smaller benchmarks, they appear to be much more attainable than before though nothing has changed.
