Should we really not be concerned with our ELL students passing the DAs or Milestones? I believe that our goal should be to make them feel confident and successful in the classroom, but shouldn''t we also set high expectations for our students? I feel that just accepting that they can't achieve standard proficiency is saying that it is ok to let them fail.

I am not comfortable with the self-fulfilling prophesy that our ELLs can't/won't pass DAs or Milestones. To me, that's going into the year not only accepting but expecting failure for a HUGE portion of our kids - and to me, that ain't cool. And from what I know about our team, it's not in our game plan. :)
