Steven said that he wanted us to enjoy the course and I think that was really important for me and an area where I needed to go to change my mindset. Although I knew it was an important opportunity to get used to the language in advance, sometimes I felt shy and sometimes I couldn't think of the right words to say about my feelings when I spoke.

But this week I have been getting to know my classmates and Steven better, which I think is a very good sign, I feel more brave to express myself than I did at the beginning, even if sometimes the grammar is poor and sometimes the vocabulary is not so sure, but I think for communication, saying it is the most important part.

The reading part of the course was a bit difficult for me these days, there were many complex and unfamiliar concepts that were difficult for me to understand, but at the same time I learnt a lot of techniques for reading literature, by paying attention to headings, first sentences, illustrations and so on, which helped me a lot.

I think I am indeed a difficult person to generate ideas, maybe because I am too hesitant at times, I am worried that my idea is not good enough, or that it cannot produce good results, I will hesitate and go over and over again. But I think maybe sometimes I should be more decisive, the idea itself is not that important, the focus should be on how to expand it.

In fact, I'm pretty good at collecting resources, but that's for Chinese resources. Many materials in English are a big challenge for me, I need to spend a lot of time reading them, to understand and generalize their content, sometimes some of the proper nouns in it will stumped me. I think maybe I need more practice and I'll get used to it.
