This week’s VMF Alumna Highlight, Diahnn Thomas started her personal chef business in 2016 after leaving corporate America. Since, her philly cheese pull-a-parts, turkey wings, or vegan cheesecake truffles are just some of the delicious treats she prepares as a home chef, party caterer, or will teach you to make in a private classes.

When the Divine Chef joined the 2019 VMF cohort, she found a supportive environment, could think differently about customer needs, and developed new growth strategies for her business after an unexpected downturn in revenue. Through her hard work and what she learned through the Village, Diahnn has grown to be in the position to take vacation time, pay for health insurance, and keep her staff on the books even through holidays. In 2020 facing the COVID-19 pandemic Diahnn saw it as an opportunity to pivot the business and redefine offerings by providing deliveries to create a sustainable business model. Her story exemplifies the impact the Village brings even during the most challenging of times.
