Creating a learning environment for children, to me, is very important in the classroom. Even though centers can be very noisy, children still find a way to read in the reading corner.

Early childhood learners learn best when in a
safe environment with responsive, caring adults. Forming relationships with their peers and
developing social-emotional skills needed to engage in academics. When a safe environment is created, teachers

In arts children love
to paint, draw, cut and paste, mold, etc. This is a great way for them to express themselves and show everyone how
they feel and what they like. This is
my favorite subject when working with the children because instead of telling
them what they should do, how they should do it, or it should be done this way,
they show me what they can do and how it’s done their way!

My students showed interest in food so I set up
the classroom into different restaurants they liked. We discussed what we knew about restaurants
and made a list of the ones we knew. We
made signs, menus, props such as, felt pizza, used the kitchen in the dramatic
play area. After that, the children got
into groups and played with the materials, had conversation with other
children, and acted out different roles. We also read books on restaurants and
clipped out different pictures of restaurants as well.

I am currently working as an assistant teacher
at a childcare center in the field of early childhood education. Certificates I have earned in the field of
early childhood are: Early childhood Care and Education Basics, Early Childhood
Program Administration, and Child Development Specialist. It is very important to have high
professional standards and good work ethics.
