From this course, I hope to learn how to effectively use technology in the classroom. I am not very good at incorporating technology into the classroom, and I struggle to see how students can have technology in the class and not be distracted by it. I am a fan of technology in free time, but I have never seen it used in classroom effectively, so I struggle to see it as useful. I want to use technology in my future class, but my reluctance and inability to see it as useful, combined with my lack of technological knowledge makes me glad to be in this class so I can learn to use it well.

Crafting- I think I would like a classroom where we all discuss together, and everyone shares their opinions and ideas. I like the idea of taking time to get to know each other better. I think this will happen through activities like this and the time we spend in class. Community is really important, because we are all planning to be future teachers, and I think all we can do is help each other and make one another's ideas stronger.
Hopes For the Course-
I hope to learn how to use technology better, in the least stressful way possible. Some times just getting thrown into technology is extremely stressful and overwhelming. I hope to become more comfortable in the tech field, and feel ready to take on the classroom with new and innovative technology ideas.

I want to be able to learn about a bunch of different technologies that I can use to be able to spark some curiosity and inquiry in students instead of using boring techniques. Maybe I'll use those boring techniques when I'm lazy though so I can't poopoo them.

I believe in a student centered classroom, and I hope this class allows me to achieve this goal with the assistance of technology. I wish to learn about technology that gives my students the freedom to explore their own interests. By the end of the class I hope to be able to utilize technology in a way that allows my students to become independent learners.
I want to be immersed in technology through daily discussions with my classmates on their experience with technology similar to what we did in the beginning of class.

COC: I like that we all know each other already. I am excited to see how people grow with their technology, and I love how everyone has come up with different ideas for using technology in different ways. I hope to learn from other future teachers about new ways to include practical technology from others who care about their students and want to engage students in a meaningful way.
HOC: I hope to learn how to help reach students that the classroom traditionally ostracizes and forgets. It is my hope to learn about tools that will help students who do not have access to technology at home. This is the reason I am a skeptic of technology; not everyone has the ability to access it and it's important to me that I do not further isolate a population that may be having extreme difficulty socially already.

Throughout this course, I hope we can be an open and respectful community. I like discussion based classrooms, and I think that since we all know each other, it should be easy to discuss and share ideas as we read and react to text. Since we mostly meet online, I think it will be good for us to talk a lot during our in class, face-to-face meetings.

I hope to be able to learn about as many different kinds of technology and classroom tools as I can. Since I'm not very technologically proficient, this class will be informative and will help me develop my teaching style in a new and modern way. I also want to be updated on all the ways to implement the technology in the classroom and find out what technologies/tools I don't like, or that I don't think are effective. Through trial and error I want to be able to absorb as much as I can to advance my own learning for the benefit of my future students.

I'm resistant to technology because I've never seen it used with great purpose; it's usually included in a classroom simply because teachers have been prompted or required to use it. I want to learn how to make technology work for me, not me work for technology.

I'd like for us to form a community in which we can share resources easily and readily to support each others' development as technology-proficient teachers--there's no way we can be exposed to all of the great resources out there on our own--we need each other!

To craft our community I hope to get through the readings, requirements, and group activities quickly and easily. The course seems to be predicated on cooperative introspection, so we will need to be open and at least decently friendly with one another.

I hope to glean a healthy respect for technology in the classroom as well as a mastery of technological tools that I have been unfamiliar with up to this point. My relationship with technology has been tempestuous, where I joke that computers and I do not get along. Mostly I hope to expand my technological armory to be able to connect with students and administrators in a beneficial way.

Well, after hearing about everyone's tech artifacts I realize how out of touch I am with technology in the classroom. The highlight of my grade school technology memories is the smart board. So many of the things my classmates shared were very new to me. I hope to learn a few useful and versatile apps and how to integrate them into my classroom to best "fuel" learning experiences. As we share and discuss more technology I am sure I will gather very useful contributions to my future classroom.

The typeof community I hope to see in the class is one that shares what they know so we can all help each other

I hope to have a very supportive community here. This class has come at a very odd time in my life, so i hope to figure things out about myself and how I want my classroom to look. Tech is and has always been very important to me, so it's safe to say I'm looking forward to this course. Also, I need to see what's up with this ClassCraft thing--sounds cool.

I’d like to learn more about implementing technology into the classroom and turning my class into a fun environment that students wish to be in. I’d like to know what the standards of technology usage are in districts around the country and for age groups.

The kind of community I’d like to have and engage with would be one that is open and willing to extend the usage of technology in teaching.

1. I hope to learn how to effectively use technology in the classroom. I am not well-versed in classroom technology of any kind (other than Quizlet), so I am hoping to learn about all the different kinds of technology that are available for the classroom and how to use them to the best benefit for my students.
2. I think that the community of this class is already very strong, because of our history together in classes outside and inside of this program, but I think that the best thing that this community can be is one that listens to others, contributes their thoughts/opinions, and feels comfortable learning about technology together.

1. I hope to learn more about technological applications (usually programs, websites, etc.) that allow me to create a more cohesive and and efficient classroom space.

2. In this class we definitely have a strong community already through EDRD 600 and through years of taking English classes together, so we should be able to learn a lot from one another.

I think we've all become more of a community through our collective suffering in EDRD 600, so we're at a good starting point. Through the blogs and Tech Artifacts I think we'll be able to lean on each other more and learn from each other experiences.
Right now I'm pretty comfortable with using some of the more basic technologies like Google Drive, but I want to learn to use them more in an educational settings, as well as some more creative education-specific apps or sites.

I hope to learn how to effectively integrate technology in the classroom in a way that furthers learning, and does not just use technology for technologies sake. I would also like to see specific examples of technology in the classroom. I want an open community that shares all of their ideas and technologies they are familiar with, or have previously used. The classroom blog and Wiki is a great start to creating this open community.

I am hoping to learn how to efficiently work innovative technological methods in the classroom, particularly with regard to time management and the need to teach the curriculum mandated by standards. In my youth, technology tended to be used as a form of recess or just a "break," but obviously we want technology to be used in a manner that suits the purposes of an educational environment.
