1. Higher Quality of Life for My Children

- College graduates are more likely to involve their children in stimulating educational activities that advance their cognitive (mental) development.
- They are also have a higher change of having children who, likewise, are more likely to graduate from college.

This is an undoubtable number one for me because I want my children to be better and have more than what I had. If I'm not helping them improve and succeed, then I would view myself as a failure. Personal success is the first step to ensuring their subsequential success.

Attached is a scientific study titled "Extracurricular Participation and Student Engagement" detailing the benefits of activities outside of class attendance.

- College graduates have more job security and stability, as they have higher rates of employment and are less likely to be laid off due to higher levels of qualifications.
- They also have more satisfaction within their job fields, as they are more likely to find themselves in careers that interest them and in positions they find stimulating, challenging, and personally fulfilling.

This is an ideal number two because one of my life mottos is, "If I'm not happy, then what am I doing?" This applies to my jobs as well. The income isn't important to me if I despise what it is I'm doing to earn it, and I'm personally less likely to do a good job if I'm not passionate about it.

- Have more effective problem-solving skills, better ability to deal with complex and ambiguous problems.
- Have a clearer sense of self-identity, including self-awareness and knowledge of personal talents, interests, values, and needs.

This is my third most important because I do everything I can to learn more everyday. I never want to be in the position of being the least educated person in a room, coming off as ignorant, and being ridiculed for such reasons. I want to be able to not only continue to educate myself, but also the people around me. If I'm aware of my own advances and shortcomings, I'm more able to work on and improve them.

Attached is a podcast detailing how being mindful and aware benefits one's lifestyle

- Graduates have higher levels of psychological well-being and mental health.
- Additionally, they have higher levels of life satisfaction and personal happiness.

I chose this as my fourth most important benefit because one of my life goals is to live a life I don't need a vacation from, and that will be impossible to achieve without personal happiness and serenity. Happiness itself is beneficial to your health and overall quality of life.

Attached is an article published by UC Berkley detailing how happiness itself is beneficial for your overall health.

- College graduates live longer, healthier lives since they know how to do so.
- They are also more likely to have health insurance and more comprehensive insurance coverage

This is my fifth most importance because health insurance is most often provided by an employer. The majority of blue collar jobs, including food-service and retail, do not provide health insurance for their employees. Most of these workers make just over the maximum amounts to quality for state-provided healthcare. This slight excess amount of income, especially if one has children, is not enough to afford their own private health insurance plan. Additionally, healthy living is important to living a longer life overall.

Attached is a photo that briefly outlines what insurance premiums can cost for an individual purchasing their own private plans.

- College graduates are more likely to have more social self-confidence.
- Additionally, they're more likely to have stronger interpersonal and human relation skills.

This is a strong contender for number six solely due to my personal levels of social anxiety and lack of confidence. College graduation will give me not only a sense of personal accomplishment and achievement, but also prove that if I can graduate college, I can do anything. College also requires ample social interaction, both with staff and fellow students, contributing to developing my skills in that field.

Attached is a YouTube video of a TEDTalk detailing the benefits of proper social interaction

- College graduates have higher rates of participation in civic affairs and community service.
- They also show more interest in national issues - both social and political.

I chose this as number seven because while it is important, it goes hand in hand with what my degree is. I plan to become a Social Worker, dealing directly with the countries most disadvantaged populations going hand in hand with social issues. Having more knowledge and greater comprehension of the social events going on in the world will only aid in my ability to do make a positive change and do my job adequately.

Attached is a photo of one of the most currently relevant societal acts, protesting.
