O meu nome é Mafalda Sofia Machado Pereira, tenho 22 anos e sou de Odivelas. Estou neste momento no 3º ano da Licenciatura de Educação Básica e posteriormente quero concluir o Mestrado de Pré-Escolar e 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico.
Antes de entrar na licenciatura concluí o secundário no Curso Profissional de Técnico de Gestão e Programação de Sistemas Informáticos na Escola Secundária Passos Manuel. Como não consegui ter nota suficiente num dos exames obrigatórios para o ingresso na licenciatura em que me encontro neste momento e para não estar um ano sem estudar decidi completar o Curso Técnico Superior de Apoio a Crianças e Jovens e agora estou apenas a concluir as unidades curriculares às quais não obtive equivalência desse mesmo curso. O motivo pelo qual troquei de área do secundário para a faculdade foi por não me conseguir visualizar no futuro a trabalhar na área de informática e passar um dia de trabalho completo sentada em frente a um computador.
Vejo-me como uma pessoa ativa, autónoma, feliz, alegre, divertida e capaz de trabalhar em equipa e foram estes alguns dos motivos pelos quais decidi entrar na área da educação, tenho também pessoas na área e por isso sempre estive em contacto com a mesma o que me criou sempre alguma curiosidade em saber mais e em saber o que é realmente educar e o papel de uma educadora de infância. Como futura educadora de infância, quero e disponho-me a mudar as mentalidades da sociedade e demonstrar que o papel de uma educadora de infância não é apenas fazer de ama e cuidar das crianças a seu cargo, mas sim o de complementar a educação que vem de casa e desenvolver competências que as famílias por vezes não são capazes.
Anteriormente referi algumas qualidades que considero ter mas devemos sempre ser capazes de falar do bom e do menos bom que temos em nós e portanto penso que um dos principais defeitos que tenho seja a teimosia. É algo que, apesar de tudo, tenho vindo a tentar melhorar.
