In the last module we read the article, “The Culturally Responsive Teacher,” by Ana Maria Villegas and Tamara Lucas and watched the YouTube video "Doing Culturally Responsive Education: What does it Take? With Speaker Dr. Sonia Nieto, “ from GSEPIT. One idea that stood out to me from these two texts was that in order to really help out students we cannot give them low expectations, instead they need to be challenged. This touches on the part of the sentence above that states, "...with the belief that every student can learn..." That is the job. We must, as teachers, support all students by believing at our core that they can in fact achieve more than we may think.

With the way education is there is constant change and with these changes we have to be able to adapt and become better teachers. If we stay the course with “traditional” ways we are not going to benefit our students and prepare them for the future. Working this generation things are a lot different then just five or even ten years ago. MTSS creates many opportunities to help enhance the quality of education that our students are receiving. Accommodations are made for students so that they can excel in their academics. In addition, students ,including teachers, all learn differently. Challenging all school staff to change the way in which they have traditionally worked across all school settings.” I chose this sentence because education itself has changed over the past years in many ways. Traditional teaching was long before we had technology, lesson adaptations and educational plans for students. as current teachers to this generation we need to make sure that our students learning is successful. We can do this by understanding and getting to know more about our students and their best intellectual way of learning. Every teacher has to make new changes and adaptations to make their classroom environment successful. I believe that good teachers are open to making changes and are okay with being uncomfortable with them at the beginning.
