There was a can  that they put cornmeal on, and he jumped up there on the can and jumped and pulled some of the meat down. Travis was pretty mad about that big Yeller dog stealing the meat. So he went out and shot a doe and is gonna hang it up in the dog run. That big Yeller dog didn't steal the doe meat he knew what Travis had been doing. He only ate the legs that Mama threw out.

Old Yeller came and was holding the big Loafer Wolf back so they could get to safety. Then, when Old Yeller was holding back the big loafer wolf he had got bitten and got rabies. Travis had to shoot old yeller because of the big loafer wolf had bitten him.
