Poverty means to me not having your needs meet. Even if you have a home, living week to week not knowing if you can pay your bills is poverty, to me. Without being able to pay your bill or continuously being behind on them creates stress and debt. Many people once they get into debt they go into a never ending cycle of it. For some, this leads to eviction which leads to homelessness, the worst level of poverty to be in.

Poverty is when someone cannot meet the minimum level of living standards. They lack personal needs like food, clothing and maybe homes. What can cause poverty, is a overpopulation in a community and it can be hard to find a job. If the community is overpopulated then the demand for goods is high and then the price is even higher.
Kaitlyn hayduk

Poverty means not being able to afford what is considered to be the basic standards for living. They lack the means to be able to afford their basic everyday needs without running out of money. For many people this could mean not being able to afford groceries or be able to pay their bills. When bills don't get payed, debt starts to build up and many people loose their homes, insurance and other things because they can no longer afford them. I would say many people living in poverty are living pay check to pay check just hoping they are able to afford what they need to survive. The stress from poverty can be overwhelming and most people find it difficult to break the cycle and get themselves above the poverty line.

To me, poverty is when someone cannot afford basic human necessities. For example, if someone cannot afford to buy food, water, or a house/somewhere to live, then I would consider them impoverished. Not being able to buy extra items does not make you impoverished, it's the inability to buy things that a human legitimately needs to survive.

Poverty means that money is scarce within a family or household. With this being said, many who are in poverty cannot obtain needs or luxuries others can. This is unfair because they cannot afford proper shelter, food, or clothing. Those who are in poverty are often in debt, which causes more struggles for families in this state.
-serenity

It is when their income level is so low that basic human needs can not be met.

Poverty is more than just not being capable of affording the basic essentials. It is a lifestyle (unchosen in most cases) of struggle. We can't choose our situations or parents and sadly some kids live in situations where their parents struggle with drug/alcohol addiction which causes some children to go without 2-3 meals every day.
