As I mentioned before, my destination is Paris, the city of romance, where all fictions seem to merge and come to life. This is a trench coat, and I’m also bringing a leather jacket.

I’m carrying three books by different French authors: Nausea, The Stranger, and Les Misérables. I couldn’t leave out strong coffee and tobacco—I love reading while enjoying the bitterness of both.

I have five different pairs of trousers and ten shirts. I keep cash in my wallet, my passport in the inner pocket of my trench coat, and a bottle of water. My cards are carefully stored in a cardholder, a gift from my mother.

The flight from Peru to Paris, from what I’ve read, lasts over ten hours, so I’ve brought some sleeping pills as I tend to get bored during very long journeys. My laptop is in my suitcase; although I’ll be staying only for a week, I can’t neglect my pending work.
