One important detail was how many marchers joined the march in 1963. People came from all over different states, towns and some walked while others rode buses, and even skated into town. The author added the details to give me an idea of how big of a deal the march was to people. The author wants me to know that the march was a big impact because the march was about freedom and people in America being treated the same.

1: The author chose to include these details to show Martin and his bother´s point of view like when they where talking about the march they used dialogue and showed both of their thoughts in Martin´s speech. 2: The author wants me to feel like I was almost there in that time listening to Martin´s speech and march and wants me to know that we should have equal rights and all feel included. ~Sophie
