People in the World State see soma as essential when it comes to living, using it in times when they find themselves stressed out or even just because they feel like it. They rely on this drug to get them through the day. In the same way in today's society, we see that many people are falling into drug addictions, ranging from weed to cocaine to methamphetamine
. When these people fall into these addictions it's hard for them to stop and they start relying on them to get them through stressful situations, seeing them as their only escape. In the same way, we are starting to see that our society is starting to rely heavily on technology as well. Technology has played a huge part in everyone's life, helping make our everyday tasks easier. We use technology to clean our floors, make our coffee, and even brush our teeth.
