This function from Apple does not replace the need of hearing aids for students with severe hearing loss, but can be a complete game changer for the students who struggle to make out words from their teachers when speaking at normal or high volumes. These students now have an opportunity to keep up on instruction, not miss out on any instructions, and participate completely in class without missing a beat.

The simple setup and outlined instructions makes this easily useable within the classroom setting, and the use of Airpods for this function blends into everyday life and doesn't really call for any extra attention towards the student from their peers. Overall I think this is a great way to help a student with mild/moderate hearing loss find success in a classroom in which they might struggle with otherwise.
